You guys can correct me if I'm wrong but I think there's a plot hole...or maybe they excluded further details in the manga or LN from the anime. The MC's shapeshifting ability when he visited the Red's base....how did it work?

The MC explained his Deception ability himself in the beginning and he said he has to have mutual engagement or something like that with his opponent. He was pretty smart in the beginning when he targeted the delinquent in the team match before in order to let him manifest the canon in front of everyone, but the whole shapeshifting thing was different right?

He only manifested that ability thanks to his engagement with the girl, and nobody else was around. Considering that, how was it possible for him to still have the ability manifested even after he was no longer engaged with her and nobody else saw him manifest it? The girl would have had to follow him the whole way and hide in the Red's base.

The body armor was stupid. There are far too many ways things could have turned out for him to think he could use it.
